American Airlines announces winter service expansions
American Airlines, a Fort Worth-based carrier, is expanding its services from major hubs Chicago O’Hare, Philadelphia, and Miami International this winter. The airline will introduce service to Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, from Chicago O’Hare, winter break service from Chicago O’Hare to Queretaro, Mexico, and service to Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, from Philadelphia. Additionally, American Airlines has announced increased frequencies on active routes this week from hubs Miami and Philadelphia. This includes over seven frequencies daily from Miami to San Juan, Puerto Rico, five daily to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, four daily to Kingston, Jamaica, three daily to Santiago, Dominican Republic, three daily to North Eleuthera, Bahamas, three daily to Marsh Harbor, Bahamas, two daily to Dominica, two daily to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and from Philadelphia, an increase in service to Aruba with two daily frequencies, three daily to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and once daily to Saint Maarten. American Airlines previously announced increases on Dallas, Miami, Chicago, and Philadelphia earlier this year for the upcoming winter season, including direct flights to Honolulu and an expansion of their reconfigured 787 aircraft offerings from hubs such as Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and Philadelphia. These announcements position the Fort Worth-based carrier to compete in multiple markets during the winter season, particularly in the Caribbean. American Airlines is the largest carrier in the Caribbean, further demonstrating its consistency in this region.
